Niet veel. ;)
Mijn zesde week zit er al op. Tijd vliegt hier! Ik kan niet geloven dat ik al over de helft van mijn tijd in Costa Rica heen ben.
Het weekend van 22 en 23 februari ging ik naar Cahuita, Limon. Een nationaal park. Ik had een superfijne trip. Wat aan het strand gelegen en een wandeling gemaakt doorheen het oerwoud. Vooral de avond was memorabel. Eerst lekker gegeten en daarna onze beste dansmoves bovengehaald in een bar met zwoele muziek en fijne cocktails. Eenmaal licht in het hoofd, had ik behoefte aan een hamburger. Terwijl ik dus lichtelijk aangeschoten op een stoeprandje mijn ongezonde aankoop aan het oppeuzelen was, kroop in de elektriciteitskabels een luiaard voorbij. Perfecte avond.
Helaas zondagavond in de bus voelde ik mij steeds slechter. Had ik blijkbaar besmet eten gegeten. Ik ben de hele week ziek geweest. Het weekend dat daarop volgde, was er dus eentje van thuisblijven. Toch waren ook die zaterdag en zondag vrij aangenaam. Zaterdag ging ik mee met de familie van twee andere vrijwilligers naar een bierbedrijf waar hun 'vader' werkt. Bleek dat bedrijf bijna een vakantieresort te zijn met voetbalveld, zwembad, gratis bier en bbq. Voetbal daar deed ik niet aan mee, maar aan het zwembad met natuurlijk water (heerlijk koud) kon ik niet weerstaan. Aan de bbq en gratis biertjes evenmin. De avond sloten we af met een bezoekje aan Hooters. Borsten ontbraken uiteraard nog in deze dag van voetbal en bier.
Zondag was een heerlijk relaxte dag in de dierentuin van Alajuela. Grote spectaculaire dieren hebben ze hier niet, wel heel veel coole vogels en andere kleinere dieren waarvan sommige gewoon loslopen en andere in de botanische tuin wonen. Ik vond het geheel supermooi en rustgevend.
Daartussen zat een week werken, waarin we een reportage maakten met als thema 'wat is OVSICORI?'. Dat is een onderzoeksinstelling van de nationale universiteit die volkanisch onderzoek doet en ook aardbevingen en zulk soort zaken onderzoekt. Omdat Costa Rica zoveel volkanen dicht bijeen heeft, komen onderzoekers van over de hele wereld naar hier om mee te werken in OVSICORI. Ik vond dit onderwerp pretty cool en had dus een leuke werkweek.
Het weekend dat daarop volgde, bracht ik door in 'The mall' en aan het strand van Jaco. Mijn huidje begint behoorlijk bruin te kleuren, hoeraa. Zondag was een luie zondag zoals die moet zijn. Ik heb die dag heeeeleeeemaaaaaaaaaal niets gedaan. <3

My sixth week has already passed. Time flies here! I can not believe I'm already over half of my stay in Costa Rica.
The weekend of 22 and 23 february I went to Cahuita, Limon. A national parc at the caribbean coast. I had a really nice trip. We relaxed a bit at the beach, made a walk through the jungle, but especially the night was memorable.First we had a nice dinner and after that we showed our best dance moves (?) in a nice bar with sexy music and delicous cocktails. Once the alcohol started working, I felt the sudden urge to eat a burger. So while I was sitting outside, tipsy with a hamburger in my hand, a sloth passed in the electric cables. It was perfect.
Unfortunately sundayevening, on my way back in the bus, I started feeling really bad. Apparently I had eaten some contested food. I've been sick all following week, so the next weekend I stayed home. Still both that saturday and sunday were pretty nice. Saturday I joined two other volunteers to the beerfactory of their hostdad. This factory however seemed to be more like a vacation resort than a work place. They had a footbal field, two pools, free barbeque and beers (duh!). Although I didn't play football, I did enjoy the pool and beers. In the evening we went to Hooters. Beer and football need boobs as well.
Sunday was a lovely relaxed day at the zoo of Alajuela. They don't have big spectacular animals there, but they do have really cool birds and other small animals, of which some just walk around freely. The zoo is a botanic garden as well. I though this place was so beautiful and peaceful. I loved it.
In between that there was a week of work, in which we filmed an item about OVSICORI. This is the institution of the national university that investigates volcanoes, earthquakes and stuff like that. Since Costa Rica with a lot of volcanoes and tectonic activity is the perfect place for this kind of investigation, scientists from all over the world come here to work with OVSICORI. I thought this subject was pretty cool, so I really liked last week.
The following weekend I was at the mall and at the beach of Jaco. A place close to San Joaquin, so I returned home the same day I went. Sunday was as lazy sunday should be. I did absooooluuuuuuutly nothing. <3
